Ski Coaching in Verbier

Ski Coaching in Verbier

Most skiers focus on technique, but real progress often comes from something else. How you think, how you react under pressure, and how you manage confidence and decision-making on the mountain all shape how you ski. Skiing is not just physical or mental, it is the interaction between the two. When your thinking is clear, your movements tend to become more natural and efficient, and as your technique improves, confidence and clarity often follow. This is where ski coaching makes the difference. It is a more focused, personalised approach designed to change how you ski, not just how you move.

A different way of improving

Skiing is not just physical or mental, it is the interaction between the two. When that connection improves, everything starts to feel more natural, more controlled, and more consistent. Rather than following a fixed structure, lessons are shaped around you, your goals, your experience, and how you want to ski. Sometimes that means working technically, at other times it means adapting how you approach a situation, manage pressure, or respond to changing conditions.

Why Skiers Plateau

Many skiers reach a point where improvement slows. You may feel comfortable on most terrain but hesitate in more challenging conditions, or ski well one run and lose confidence the next.

Often the limitation is not physical, but the link between technique and mental performance. When they are aligned, progress becomes far more natural.

Experience and Approach

With decades of experience in the Alps, this approach has developed through both teaching and skiing in a wide range of environments. Alongside ski instruction, I have trained in NLP and sports hypnosis, helping support focus, confidence, and performance under pressure in a practical, on-snow way.

A More Complete Approach

Alongside technical coaching, I integrate practical methods drawn from NLP and sports hypnosis to improve focus, confidence, and decision-making in real time. As your thinking becomes clearer, your technique begins to follow, and your skiing becomes more consistent.

This is not theory. It is applied on the mountain, as you ski.

What You Can Expect

With the right approach, changes can happen quickly.

You can expect:

  • Greater confidence across a wider range of terrain
  • More consistent performance from run to run
  • Clearer thinking and decision-making on the mountain
  • A more fluid, natural skiing style
  • A better understanding of how to improve independently

About Roddy

I have spent my career working in the mountains, coaching skiers of all levels in Verbier.

Alongside my ski instructor qualifications, I am also trained in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and sports hypnosis. This allows me to take a broader approach to performance — combining technical development with mental clarity and focus.

The result is a more complete form of coaching, designed to create lasting change in how you ski.
